As we are all at or near 40, it's time for a reunion or a midlife crisis or both. Age 40 is a different kind of physical peak than age 18, as we were the last time we were all together, but at least it's a good excuse, if you need one, to tell your family that you need a weekend away.
My Dad's family is probably getting together in Lewiston, UT the weekend of July 24th. (Though they got into an email fight this month, so who knows.) So I reached out to a few of you with ties to Cache Valley.
Paul lives in the area and is willing to host, though has not been notified of potential dates.
Peter has a Jones family reunion fro July 19-26 in Southern Utah, so may be in the state around then.
Doug has penciled-in a week in and around Cache Valley from July 18-22.
Some of you obviously live in the state of UT (Rob) or in southern Idaho (Rob), so I'm hoping with enough advanced notice you'll come, too. And maybe the rest of you out-of-staters can plan your vacations accordingly.
I'm only really expecting one evening for the book club to get together, but if people want to plan a day or two, I'd be up for it.
For me, Friday the 21sth would be ideal, but for now, everything is flexible. While a weekend seems like it would be easiest for those driving in, we could do Tuesday the 18th, if necessary, to catch Peter before he heads down to Southern UT, or I'd be willing to meet up in Southern UT to hike around.
Just wanted to put this out there to let people mull it over as they're working on their summer plans.
