So, I've decided to go with The Road as the July book of the month. Hopefully you can all get a copy easily. I'll put an upfront caveat that not only is the book very stark in its depiction of post-apocalyptic America, but there are some graphically violent depicted events. Or maybe not graphic, but certainly disturbing.
