State of Fear by Michael Crichton. Since I am morally responsible for the content of this book, I have to recommend that you skip the first Chapter-it is not essential, and the rest of the book is clean(er). While I did check out Milton Friedman from the library, I felt obliged to pick a novel--if nothing else, the Bibliography is good (honest!).
